Yesterday, in the cover of night, Iowa Republicans passed a six-week abortion ban. This legislation is just the latest in a string of anti-abortion, anti-women laws across the country.
This is exactly what we warned would happen when
Roe v. Wade was overturned – and it's clear that extreme Republicans won’t stop until they enact a
nationwide abortion ban.
I’m disgusted by these efforts to strip women of their bodily rights, and for us, it’s a reminder about what is at stake in 2024.
Here in CA-47, my presumptive Republican opponent Scott Baugh is on the record opposing abortion “in any form” -- with no exceptions even for rape or incest.
This is the same candidate who gave Katie Porter a run for her money in 2022, and who now has the full weight of the national GOP behind him.
Republicans are fired up to try to win this seat, which happens to be the ONLY open “toss-up” district in California. If we are going to retake the majority and defend reproductive rights, we simply can’t fall short here.
