BREAKING NEWS! SAG-AFTRA has gone on strike!
The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists represents over 160,000 entertainment workers across the United States. And tomorrow, their members will walk off their jobs and shut down the majority of the American entertainment industry. They will join striking Writers Guild of America members on the picket lines across Los Angeles and across the country. This is the first time that time two major Hollywood unions are on strike at the same time since the Eisenhower administration.
The bosses have outright said that their "endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses.” This is the inhumane logic of capitalism, designed to grind us all into dust. This is a pivotal moment not just for workers in Hollywood, but for workers everywhere. If the bosses want a fight, we'll give them a fight.
And across LA, workers are already fighting back. Starbucks workers are walking off their jobs. Hotel workers with UNITE HERE 11 are striking across Southern California for a living wage. UPS Teamsters are getting ready to strike on August 1st. We're all up against a capitalist system that is designed to devalue and dehumanize us. Socialism and solidarity is the only way forward. And together, we can win.

JOIN THE PICKET LINES! We do not have SAG-AFTRA's full picket line schedule yet, but we know they will be joining the WGA-W at their picket lines across Los Angeles.
Here is a full schedule of WGA-W's picket lines. Go attend the picket most convenient for you - you don't need to be a union member to join in on the fun. Just throw on a DSA shirt or pin if you have them, and go show your solidarity! They'll be happy to see you.
