Africa

• Praise God for seven children rescued out of slavery in the fishing industry on Lake Volta in Ghana. Three boys and four girls between the ages of 6 and 14 were rescued because of information provided by other children from previous rescues. This operation was the first rescue conducted by IJM Ghana's new team based in the northern part of the country. Pray for them as they conduct all the necessary follow up to provide care for each of the children, and to drive the legal case forward.

Latin America

• Pray for our first survivor of violence in El Salvador, who is being supported by one of our local partners. Please pray that her case moves smoothly through the legal system and for her restoration as she receives aftercare services. Pray for her and her family's protection and that they will be encouraged as they continue to seek justice.

South Asia

• Please pray for IJM's legal cases to move more swiftly through the overburdened courts. Bonded labor slavery cases can sometimes take up to eight or nine years to reach a judgment. This wait is due to poor court management, judge transfers and delay tactics from the accused slave owners. Several of our cases that are ready for judgment this year are only waiting for the final hearing to be scheduled. Pray these cases would wrap up in the next few months with strong sentences for the accused.

Southeast Asia

• Praise God for an exciting new partnership in the Philippines that will increase access to justice for survivors of cybersex trafficking. This week, IJM launched a partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in Cebu and the anti-child pornography group of the Philippine government's Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT). Through this partnership, pro bono lawyers will be able to prosecute trafficking cases in courts - including cases of cybersex trafficking against children - while IJM and IACAT will provide coaching and mentorship. Pray that God would move mightily through this partnership, bringing justice for children who have been abused and igniting advocates of child protection among this group of lawyers.
