Dear john,
As the representative for El Paso, I truly believe that a crucial part of my job is to not only show the best of El Paso to Washington D.C. but also bring people from our nation's capital to our community.
Throughout my time in Congress, I'm proud to have hosted over 20% of Congress, El Paso native and Under Secretary of the Army Gabe Camarillo, various Biden administration cabinet members such as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Vice-President Kamala Harris, and even President Biden himself.
It's so crucial to show administration officials and my colleagues in Congress first-hand what our community is like and its needs. Directly from these visits, we've seen discussions that ultimately resulted in the designation to make Castner Range a national monument, as well as internship programs for UTEP students with the Department of Defense, and so much more.
Just this past week, I hope you saw that I had the wonderful opportunity to host the Department of Agriculture's Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs Jenny Moffitt, and Mitch Landrieu, Senior Advisor to President Biden and White House Infrastructure Coordinator.
It was a joy to not only celebrate the accomplishments the Biden administration has done for El Paso, but also convey my priorities for our community and share how the administration can continue to support us.
