Moments ago, a MAGA Congressman name checked us while grilling progressive
FTC Chair Lina Khan in a congressional hearing.
"The Progressive Change Campaign happens to have a list of 400 recommended
names for positions in the FTC and the Biden Administration. Has anyone
including Adam Green of the Progressive Change Campaign communicated with
you to hire any of these individuals?" asked Rep. Ben Cline of Virginia.
We quickly set the record straight in a public statement, informing the
Congressman:
* The Progressive Change Institute sent a list of highly-credentialed
progressive personnel to the Biden Transition -- not the FTC. (The
list included Lina Khan and many others who were appointed!)
* My co-founder Stephanie Taylor led this effort, as reported by the
[ [link removed] ]NY Times, [ [link removed] ]Christian Science Monitor, and others. We assume Cline
named me because a Big Tech lobbyist recently named me in a weird rant
against Khan on Twitter -- and that's where the Congressman got his
talking points.
* Our list was actually [ [link removed] ]700 names, not 400. That means if the
Congressman considers this a vast conspiracy to put good people in
government, it's actually 75% more impactful than he thought!

Right now, our team is working with allies in the Biden Administration and
Congress on everything from fighting surprise junk fees to cancelling
student debt to antitrust policy -- while working to elect more allies in
2024.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
