To the food industry, this is “normal.”
Hi there,
Picture it: row after row of hens crammed in wire cages, forced to lay more eggs than their bodies can sustain.
These cages are not designed for comfort. They were designed for maximum efficiency—so the companies that use them can maximize their profits.
But that efficiency comes at a cost, and hens are paying the price. Hens in cages never get to graze with their flock, or feel the sun on their feathers. Instead, factory farming keeps them trapped in fear, stress, and pain.
Now the tide is beginning to turn.
Advocates like you are letting companies know no one deserves a life in a cage. You’ve shown up for animals, again and again. And today, more than 2,000 companies have committed to sparing hens from a lifetime in extreme confinement.
But Jollibee hasn’t done a thing. Jollibee, parent company of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Smashburger, is both the largest and fastest growing restaurant chain in the world. It’s also falling behind the times. In spite of our collective demands, Jollibee is refusing to stop forcing hens to live in extreme confinement.
It’s time for that to change. Will you join me in sending Jollibee a message it can’t ignore?

What if kindness was the new “normal”?

P.S. Kindness could become the new norm—if companies make meaningful change. Will you join me in telling Jollibee it’s time to end cages for good?

P.P.S. If you or anyone you know is looking to get involved in animal protection work, we’re hiring a new Global Corporate Campaigns Coordinator who would help put pressure on companies like Jollibee. The deadline to apply is July 17, 2023 at 12pm ET. 🐓🐄
