Hi John,
Did you hear the news? New American Leaders' president and CEO, Ghida Dagher, was named one of the 2023 Great Immigrants, Great Americans by the Carnegie Corporation of New York!
Wanna know just how big a deal this is? Look no further than this amazing piece in the New York Times!
This is an incredible honor for Ghida and for our movement as a whole!
As one of the 35 2023 honorees, she joins leaders like World Bank president Ajay Banga, Elle’s editor-in-chief Nina Garcia, U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu, author Min Jin Lee, actor Pedro Pascal in highlighting the power of our experiences, voices, and identities as immigrants and New Americans. It shows that we are the backbone of our nation and are committed to not only pursuing our own dreams and opportunities, but working to secure a brighter, more inclusive future for us all.
That's something to celebrate!
But especially as we look ahead to the 2024 elections, we know that we still have work to do. Even as we celebrate this recognition, we must continue to change the narrative and show that we are the leaders our communities—and our country—have been waiting for. That's where we need your help.
We need you to invest in our movement and vision for a stronger, more inclusive democracy. With your continued support, New American Leaders will empower the next generation of great Americans and immigrants as they run, win, and lead.
Please help us inspire the next cohort of great immigrant leaders by donating $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can!
We know that this milestone and our work would not be possible without you. I hope you will join me in celebrating Ghida, this exciting recognition, and all of the other accomplishments—both big and small—that make our work such an integral part of our democracy!
In community,
Sam Pedreiro
