John, some of you know me very well, and some of you are just getting to know me better as a Democrat running for Governor of Louisiana. I am grateful you’re here and taking the time to read my message.

I’d like to tell you a little bit more about myself and why I got into this race in the first place. But first, I have to ask: Can you chip in $25 before my critical mid-month deadline on Saturday? [[link removed]]

My name is Shawn Wilson. I’m a father, grandfather, husband of 28 years, lifelong Democrat, and public servant.

I’ve spent the last 25 years in state government, having been appointed or served in an executive role for three Governors and one Lieutenant Governor. Seven years ago, I was appointed Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

When I was appointed to that role, Louisiana was facing record budget deficits and a slumping economy. The department was short on funds and hadn’t broken ground on many of the big infrastructure projects that we’ve needed for decades. So, we got to work bringing local, state, and federal leaders together in collaboration with business owners, farmers, and neighborhood associations. Together, we got things done and created the largest infrastructure investment in our state’s history.

The bottom line is this: I know and love Louisiana, and I have spent my career working to make our state better.

Now more than ever, we need leaders who will build bridges, not burn them. That’s the kind of Governor I promise to be, but I need your help to get there. Please, will you join me in this fight with your first contribution before Saturday’s mid-month deadline? [[link removed]]
