We are back, refreshed, and ready to work after our short summer break.
We’re resuming our work on highlighting the issues that impact your everyday life, including skyrocketing gas prices.
Seattle had the honor of hosting the
MLB All Star Game Tuesday. During the game, the announcers reminded us that the last time Seattle hosted this event was in 2001, when gas prices were
just over $1 per gallon. Fast forward to today, and we are now paying over $5 per gallon.
Of course, the staggering increase in gas prices didn’t just
happen. It’s a direct consequence of decades of Democrat control of our state government.
Governor Jay Inslee and Democrat lawmakers
consistently assured the public that their Cap and Trade (i.e., "carbon tax") scheme would only have a minimal impact on consumers, costing
them just "pennies." Despite unanimous opposition from Republicans, Democrats passed the legislation during the
"remote" 2021 legislative session. Democrats went on to repeat these claims during the 2022 campaign, even though evidence suggested that
the policy would add nearly fifty cents to the price of a gallon of gas.
All of the Democrats’ promises turned out to be
false, and consumers are bearing the cost. And unfortunately, as you know, most media outlets refuse to hold Democrats accountable for their actions
and promises.
