We’re devastated, friend.

Three beloved Southern Resident orcas – Cappuccino, Marina and Ripple – have all
died from starvation and pollution. Now, thanks to corporate greed, many of their surviving family members are
wasting away. Worse, under these conditions, the next generation of this precious species
might never come to be!

Here’s why: Big Oil and the shipping industry are risking the health of our
orcas and our oceans for profit. Right now, a massive new shipping terminal and
expanded oil pipeline could bring an ENORMOUS increase in shipping traffic
through orcas' fragile habitat. The risks are too great to ignore, and could lead
to the EXTINCTION of the LAST 75 Southern Resident orcas on Earth!

This shipping terminal could bring starvation and death by driving
away orcas’ scarce food supply, increasing the risk of spewing oil
into the ocean, and disrupting whales’ sonar signals with underwater noise
pollution. That means these weak, stressed and grieving orcas will struggle even
more to find food, locate each other and avoid dying outright in collisions with
speeding ships!

Meanwhile, plans to EXPAND a major oil pipeline would send millions more barrels
per day of dirty tar sands oil in tanker ships through these orcas’ delicate habitat.
That means it’s just a matter of time until the next oil spill could wipe out
this orca family for good.

But if we raise our voices NOW, we can still protect vulnerable animals and stop
these industrial megaprojects from destroying our oceans and our planet – but we urgently
need your help for World Orca Day. We’re still missing 16
responses from your area, so please tell us before our
11:59 p.m. deadline:
