Hello, My two weeks at home in the district is coming to an end and I am headed back to D.C. for several weeks of legislative work. Being home is the best. I was able to travel all around the district, did a lot of listening, and was able to engage with so many of you throughout the district. Summer in Michigan, farmer markets, local festivals, barbecues, parades, kayaking, softball, pickle ball, fireworks - it was all fun! While it is good to enjoy the many events, many people wanted to talk to me about current events. From Supreme Court decisions to more senseless shootings. From potential UAW and UPS strikes to prescription drug shortages. So many people I talked to expressed feelings about being worried and unsettled. A lot of people have things on their mind. I listened as they expressed concerns, and their hopes too, asked lots of questions, and shared their ideas. I know I didn’t get to talk to everyone over the last two weeks, it would simply be impossible. But after being out and about for two straight weeks, it reinforces that I want to communicate with as many people as I can. It is important to me to know what’s on your mind and what issues you want Congress to address right now. So I’m sending you this email to do exactly that.
