Glyphosate -- the main active ingredient in Bayer's Roundup -- is a probable human carcinogen.1 Why are we still allowing it to be sprayed where we live, work, and play?

Roundup, and generic versions of it, is the most widely used herbicide in the world.2 It's sprayed everywhere from sprawling fields of soybeans, to the gardens of municipal parks, to the lawns of individual homeowners. You might have some in your garage right now.

We shouldn't be needlessly exposing ourselves to something that has the potential to cause such serious harm.

In order to protect our health, we need to ban Roundup in states across the country unless and until it's proven safe. Send a message calling on your governor to ban Roundup.

The health risks of glyphosate have been known for almost a decade. The World Health Organization announced that the chemical might cause cancer in 2015.3 In 2017, the state of California listed glyphosate as a "known carcinogen."4 And in 2019, a federal jury unanimously agreed that Roundup was a "substantial factor" in causing a man's cancer.5

Bayer recently announced that the company would reformulate Roundup to remove glyphosate from some of its products.6

But for now, glyphosate is still being used -- putting our health at risk. And even once Bayer releases the updated formula, it will also need to prove that the new version is safe.

Call on your governor to protect our health from toxic chemicals by banning Roundup in our state.

Roundup is just too risky.

Glyphosate isn't the only chemical in Roundup's weed-killing cocktail -- and we have no guarantee that the entire mixture isn't unhealthy.

Even the lead toxicologist working for Monsanto (Roundup's original manufacturer) said "we have not done the necessary testing on the formulation" to confirm that Roundup is not a carcinogen.7 It's irresponsible for the manufacturer to sell us a product when it can't guarantee it won't harm our health.

We need to take action in states across the nation unless and until Roundup is proven safe.
