Senate Democrats Ramp Up Campaign to Discredit, Control Supreme Court
- Democrats in Congress and their left-wing allies are in a state of panic about the Supreme Court, and it’s easy to see why. The Left can’t risk leaving the country to the American people and their elected legislators, but need politically driven judges to impose their agenda.
- The Supreme Court today is not on board with that, and the Left has had enough. The word is that the Senate Judiciary Committee may vote next week on a bill that pretends to be about “ethics,” but might as well be called “The Judiciary, Know Your Place Act.”
- This is the most serious threat to the independence of the judiciary since America’s Founding. The Declaration of Independence reveals that judicial independence was, in fact, among the very reasons for that founding. It is what distinguishes the American judicial system from systems elsewhere, including in other countries with written constitutions.
- Destroying that independence would eliminate an essential ingredient of our liberty.

June Inflation Numbers Remain Highly Concerning
- Inflation retreating from 40-year highs is a welcome relief for American families, but wage increases are still way behind inflation.
- In 26 of the last 30 months, annual inflation has outpaced wage growth, and real weekly earnings are down 4.6% over that same time. People are demonstrably poorer because of the hidden tax of inflation.
- American families are being forced to eat the rotten fruit from the tree of government overspending, and that will continue until Congress and the White House rein in their bloated budgetary habits.
- With so many recession indicators flashing red today, it is imperative that we get our financial house in order, and the federal budget is no exception to that mandate.

Public Opinion Is No Excuse to Ignore the First Amendment
- In a recent opinion piece, a professor at Northwestern’s Pritzker School of Law lamented that religious freedom has become an excuse to break the law. Nothing could be further from the truth.
- The First Amendment protects Americans from being compelled to violate their faith in word or deed. That’s Constitutional Law 101.
- Increasingly, the U.S. Supreme Court has recognized that the First Amendment doesn’t just protect freedom of belief. It also protects the freedom to exercise one’s religious beliefs.
- Religious freedom isn’t an excuse to break the law. It is a right enshrined in our nation’s highest law. And when courts uphold that right, they uphold the law. That’s something we should celebrate, for ourselves and for the oppressed who look to our nation for refuge.
