July 2023 eNews
Hello John:

We hope that you all are having a lovely summer thus far. Some amazing things are happening here at WomenHeart! We are excited to share a few highlights with you:
WomenHeart Champion Recruitment!
We're overjoyed to open the applications for our in-person WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium! We're looking for dynamic, driven women living with heart disease to become WomenHeart Champions. You'll be part of the nation's only volunteer program training women with heart disease to serve as educators, advocates, and support for others in similar circumstances.

The Symposium will take place from October 6-9, 2023, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After our successful virtual symposium earlier this year, we're excited to train new Champions in person.

New Resources on Birth Control and Heart Disease
Last month, WomenHeart hosted a webinar and released a new fact sheet on what women with heart disease and associated risk factors need to know about their contraceptive choices. This is critical, as some women with heart disease are advised against certain types of birth control, such as those containing estrogen, and others may be advised against becoming pregnant because the health risks are too high. Hear what our experts have to say and listen to a WomenHeart Champion share her journey.
