This isn’t the news I was hoping to share today. We recently got word that we were outraised by Ken Calvert in the latest quarterly reporting period.

While our campaign brought in over $875,000 in the six weeks since we launched on May 16th, Calvert still managed to haul in a little over $900,000 over the last three months.

Now, the good news is that we have significantly more grassroots support than Calvert. Our individual donor count outnumbers Calvert’s individual total by more than a 3:1 margin. And we only had six weeks against his three months — meaning we’re raising at a quicker pace than Calvert.

And when Calvert's report goes public, we expect to see it chock-full of big checks from corporate PACs and special interests. In contrast, our campaign rejects corporate PAC money and is funded by individual donors. I know we can pull ahead of him, but it's going to depend on your support:

Here's the truth: When Will ran against Ken Calvert in 2022, he surprised everyone by nearly flipping this seat. But in the end, Calvert’s corporate cash was too much to overcome just five months after the primary, when Will became the Democratic nominee.

But now, after you helped Will build real name ID in the last campaign, our chances are much better in 2024: we’re starting early, and there are far more grassroots donors supporting Will than big donors supporting Calvert. When we win this, it's going to happen because of strong, grassroots fundraising from people like you.
