We must protect the right to vote.

John,

When we’ve got leaders attempting to make it harder for people to vote, we know we’re going in the wrong direction.

Recently, Idaho’s Republican governor signed HB 340 into law. This bill –  sent to his desk by the extreme, anti-democracy, GOP-controlled legislature – enacts stricter regulations around voter registration.

It’s simple – it’s becoming more difficult for Idahoans to register to vote, and we’re already seeing the consequences.

These new regulations are preventing dedicated organizations across Idaho from doing the crucial work of registering voters. A government that wants fewer citizens participating in the political process – it’s discouraging.

The reality is that the GOP knows that when more people have their voices heard, they lose.

So, they use legislation to cheat and evade real democracy. This is voter suppression, plain and simple. It’s happening in Idaho and it’s happening across the country.

It’s no surprise – a political party that was complicit in an attempt to violently overthrow the government has no respect for democracy.

This is exactly why we need radical Republicans out of office. I’m running to unseat one of them – Mike Simpson is a Trump-enabling Republican who’s been in office for far too long – about a quarter of a century.

I’m committed to democracy, and to making it easier for folks to get to the polls, not harder. If you’re with me, will you please contribute to my campaign and help send me to Congress?

The GOP will stop at nothing to disenfranchise and flat-out prevent people from making their voices heard, but we won’t sit idly by and let it happen.

Let’s show them what respect for democracy looks like, and work together to elect leaders who will fight for everyone’s right to vote.

I’m grateful to have you with me.

David Roth is a single, gay dad running for Idaho’s Second Congressional District. We’re going up against a GOP incumbent who has been in this seat for almost 25 years. It’s time for change in Idaho, and our grassroots campaign is building on the momentum that began in David’s race for U.S. Senate last cycle. The GOP is not planning to defend this seat, so we plan to take it from them and help Democrats retake the House majority next year. We’d love your support to build a solid campaign to bring progress to Idaho and the country.
