New on the County Channel

sea lion

A wave of sick and injured sea creatures is pushing the Marine Mammal Care Center to the limit. A temporary overflow shelter along the Marina del Rey beach serves as an outlet for a ?maxed out? MMCC. High concentrations of domoic acid have been found in Southern and Central California waters. Sea lions, dolphins and even sea birds have become ill after they eat small fish that consume the algae.

You can watch more stories like this on Channel 92 or 94 on most cable systems, or anytime here. Catch up on LA County Close-Up?here.
