Patriot,
NO U.S. President should have the power to lock up American
citizens and throw away the key without due process of law
guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
And especially not this one.
Whether or not the president has this power will be decided by
whether or not we can have an amendment adopted as part of the
National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Rep. Matt Rosendale's amendment would end the indefinite
detention of American citizens without due process - something
Campaign for Liberty has fought for since President Barack Obama
signed it into law in 2012.
Right now, the amendment is before the House Rules Committee,
which largely determines which amendments will and will not be
adopted into the final bill. Our Capitol sources describe the
situation as "fluid," meaning the amendment could be decided
today, tomorrow, next week, or later.
Call the House Rules Committee offices RIGHT NOW
and tell them to adopt the Rosendale Amendment
ending indefinite detention of Americans!
If you and I and thousands and thousands of other patriots flood
these offices with calls today, we can make a difference.
Majority (Republican) office: (202) 225-9191
Minority (Democrat) office: (202) 225-9091
Here is a simple script you can use when leaving a message (with
a live person as well as a machine), or say what you like:
"Hello, this is (your name) from (your city and state). I'm
calling to urge the committee support and adopt the Rosendale
Amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, to prohibit
the indefinite detention of American citizens without charges.
"No one should be indefinitely detained without charge or trial
based on a president's belief that the person is "dangerous." No
president, and certainly no government bureaucrat, should ever be
given the power to order a person indefinitely detained, without
sufficient evidence to bring a charge.
"This provision of the NDAA is grossly unconstitutional and
needs to be amended to protect the constitutional rights of all
American citizens."
These are the members of the Rules Committee. If one of them is
your congressman, by all means contact them as well:
Tom Cole, Chairman (R-OK): (202) 225-6165
Michael Burgess, Vice Chair (R-TX): (202) 225-7772
Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA): (202) 225-2065
Michelle Fischbach (R-MN): (202) 225-2165
Thomas Massie (R-KY): (202) 225-3465
Ralph Norman (R-SC): (202) 225-5501
Chip Roy (R-TX): (202) 225-4236
Erin Houchin (R-IN): (202) 225-5315
Nicholas Langworthy (R-NY): (202) 225-3161
Jim McGovern, Ranking Member (D-MA): (202) 225-6101
Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA): (202) 225-2011
Joe Neguse (D-CO): (202) 225-2161
Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM): (202) 225-6190
And if you haven't already done so, click here to tell your
congressman to support the Rosendale Amendment to repeal the NDAA
provision that suspended the due process rights of American
citizens and allows for their indefinite imprisonment.

You, Patriot, can give people a trial.
You, Patriot, can give people a judge.
You, Patriot, can give people a jury.
You, Patriot, have the chance to end indefinite detention in the
United States of America . . . indefinitely.
That's what can happen if we pass an amendment to the National
Defense Authorization Act.
So please contact members of the Rules Committee at the phone
numbers above, and if you haven't already done so, take one
moment right now to contact your congressman by clicking here to
send an e-postcard.

And if, after you send your e-postcard to Congress, you follow up
with a contribution to Campaign for Liberty, your support makes
it possible for C4L to increase the pressure by bringing this
message to more patriots like you.

Identifying and reaching out to bring in new members and
supporters isn't free. Neither is mobilizing and delivering your
petitions to the Capitol.
But the more resources we have, the more we can do, so if
possible, after signing your e-postcard to Congress, follow up by
chipping in a contribution to help us win this battle.

P.S. Passing this amendment should be a no-brainer but remember
there are those in Washington who appear eager to throw their
opponents in prison without charges or trial.
That's why it's so critical you contact Congress and DEMAND they
strip the indefinite detention of American citizens out of the
NDAA.
Call the House Rules Committee now and let them know the
Constitution must be followed. Tell them to ban the indefinite
detention of Americans.

Minority (Democrat) office: (202) 225-9091
And then, please consider chipping in a donation to help us keep
the pressure on Congress to restore the Constitution and end
indefinite detention!
