Far too many times, our nation has watched in horror as news of yet another mass shooting breaks. The gun violence that we’ve seen demands action. Will you add your name here to call on Congress to take action to protect our country from the epidemic of gun violence?

Last summer, I supported a host of legislation that would work to make our communities safer and prevent gun violence.

The Protecting Our Children Act would have raised the purchasing age for semi-automatic weapons from 18 to 21 years old, cracked down on gun trafficking to get illegal guns off of our streets, strengthened safe storage requirements, and outlawed high-capacity magazines.

I also supported an assault weapons ban — semi-automatic assault weapons have no place on our nation's streets. It is a necessary step to try to ensure Americans will not have to fear death while attending school, religious services, and other public gatherings.

John, making our schools, streets, and communities safer always has been — and always will be — a top priority of mine in Congress. Will you join my efforts by signing on to call on Congress to pass gun violence prevention legislation?
