Friend, As a recovering computer science major, I'm enthralled by
artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential. At the same time, I am
fully aware that if left unchecked and unregulated, this technology
can be dangerous.
AI is a tool, and at this critical moment, Congress must make sure that we use it to benefit and not harm our society. That's why I'm proposing a nonpartisan AI Commission, composed of a wide array of experts, to make recommendations to Congress about what kinds of AI should be regulated, how we should go about it,?and what standards should apply.? ?

I believe in American innovation and want to make sure America
continues to lead in the area of AI, while we protect privacy,
security, and our democracy. This is the first step forward.
