Hi John xxxxxx,
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that would allow domestic abusers who are found to pose a credible threat of violence against their partner or child to own and use guns.
According to NPR, [The case focuses on Zackey Rahimi, a man who was under a protective order after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend. While the order expressly prohibited Rahimi from possessing a firearm, he was involved in five shootings between December 2020 and January 2021. After police found firearms at his home, Rahimi pled guilty to violating the Federal Firearms Act. However, an appeals court later vacated Rahimi's conviction on the grounds that it was unconstitutional under the new interpretation of the Second Amendment.]
The Supreme Court will soon weigh in – and we are expecting them to rule in favor of domestic abusers like Rahimi.
If recent SCOTUS decisions are any indication, the conservative, mostly white male majority will not choose what is in the best interest of women. That is why we are working to elect pro-choice, pro-WOMEN women who will fight for common sense gun legislation like our lives depend on it – because they do. Will you help us elect more women by rushing $20.23 now? →

It took decades to pass legislation that would protect women and prohibit domestic abusers from obtaining guns. In fact, the boyfriend loophole would have been conspicuously missing from the gun control conversation if Senator Amy Klobuchar hadn’t spent years working to finally close it. Now, the Supreme Court is threatening to undo that progress.
This is a women’s issue – and we are writing today because women across the country will die if the Supreme Court rules the way we expect them to on this issue.
According to Everytown:
❌ On average, 92% of all women killed with guns in high-income countries were in the United States.
❌ Access to guns makes it 5X more likely that an abusive male partner will kill his female victim.
❌ Nearly 2/3 of children's deaths involving domestic violence were caused by guns.
Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action, says it best: “Every country is home to domestic abusers. Only America gives them easy access to an arsenal and ammunition.”
The current liberal minority of our Supreme Court is all women – but, as recent SCOTUS rulings have proved, it’s not enough. We need more women in our legislative bodies to counter these dangerous rulings from the courts. We must continue to sound the alarm on these issues and other attacks on women's rights. Please help us support pro-choice, progressive women running up and down the ballot in 2023 and 2024 by rushing $20.23 now.
In solidarity,
