Housing is a fundamental human right, John.
Frankly, that should be obvious. But our country has yet to recognize it. In fact, our government has so consistently failed our most vulnerable populations through the racist and discriminatory housing policies that we're facing a full-blown crisis.

That's why yesterday, I, along with other progressive champions including Congresswomen Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Pramila Jayapal introduced the People's Housing Platform, a groundbreaking, progressive housing framework to address every aspect of America's housing crisis, including:

Defending tenant rights;
Adding to the stock of public housing;
Improving services for members of the homeless community;
Increasing access to public housing;
Giving low-income communities greater control over their neighborhoods;
Supporting renters and first-time homeowners.
These are the sorts of bold, transformative solutions that will not merely slow the housing crisis, but reverse it and establish the right for everyone who calls this country home to have a home.

Courage,

Earl
