John,
The first weekend of July saw the most mass shootings of any weekends of the year. And the bloodshed has not slowed.
It also marked one year since a gunman armed with an assault weapon and high capacity magazine fired more than 80 shots into a parade in Highland Park, IL, killing seven people and injuring 48 others.
This unending trend of gun violence in our country is why President Biden continues to plead for action from Congress – including banning weapons of war, yet they have inexplicably failed to take action to protect the American people from the gun violence epidemic.
Banning assault weapons means stopping the next tragedy. Because these weapons are the common link between some of the deadliest mass shootings in the US: In Uvalde, Highland Park, Buffalo, Aurora, Parkland, Orlando, Las Vegas, Newtown, the gunman used an AR-15 style weapon.
We are calling on 5,000 dedicated activists to join President Biden and Brady in calling on Congress to ban assault weapons NOW. >>
