In the past year, politicians and anti-abortion groups have exploited federal courts to strip abortion access, end affirmative action at universities, and allow discrimination against LGBTQ+ people.

Now, in a dangerous abuse of power and misinformation campaign, Texas and an anonymous plaintiff are trying to use the courts to shut down Planned Parenthood health centers with a $1.8 billion lawsuit. It's another sign of just how far they'll go to harm Planned Parenthood and cut patients off from care.

Tell Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton to drop this sham lawsuit and end their attacks on Planned Parenthood health centers and patients.

A federal judge could rule on this case at any time — but we don't need to wait for a ruling to know this lawsuit against Planned Parenthood is completely baseless.

The facts are clear:

• Planned Parenthood health centers in Texas have treated Medicaid recipients for years, providing birth control, STI testing & treatment, and cancer screenings.
• A previous federal court said Planned Parenthood could provide these services, and be paid just like any other health care provider.
• Now, Texas is trying to call that Medicaid fraud — but it's simply not.

Planned Parenthood did not commit Medicaid fraud — and Gov. Abbott and Attorney General Paxton know it. They're using the courts and abusing their power to target patients and health care providers.
