Friends,
The Democratic National Committee has created Organizing Corps 2020 to recruit "first-time organizers and train them on the skills they need to get a paid, full-time job working on the 2020 Democratic Presidential campaign to help put a Democrat in the White House and win up and down the ticket on November 3, 2020." They are offering paid trainings and providing an onramp to full-time paid positions on the Democratic presidential election in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. February 5 is the deadline to apply for 7-day intensive bootcamp conducted at one of these locations: Tallahassee, Florida; Lansing, Michigan; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Raleigh, North Carolina; State College, Pennsylvania. March 4 is the deadline to apply for the 5-week hands-on immersion program in 19 cities across the country. Corp Members attending the bootcamp receive a $500 travel and living stipend; the stipend for the immersion program is $3,000+. Click HERE to refer a student for the program.

FCDC gets new officers, changes Bylaws
[Excerpt from the January 29 The Blue View article by Karen Kirk, Deputy Editor/Photo Editor of The Blue View.]
"Several hundred Democrats turned out for the Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) Reorganization Meeting Tuesday night and chose new leaders, revised bylaws and approved a resolution not to support a “flawed” Virginia redistricting plan. Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring kicked off the meeting at Madison High School in Vienna by thanking Fairfax County Democrats for all that we do. “Year in and year out, you’re a committee that really delivers,” he said. Outgoing FCDC Chair Dan Lagana opened the meeting and thanked several volunteers who went above and beyond in contributing to committee. Among them were Treasurer Nadja Golding, new FCDC Chair Bryan Graham and Tom Goodwin."
FCDC Members also passed a resolution regarding redistricting and revised bylaws.
