The Earth is 1.2℃ (34.16℉) warmer than in preindustrial times, and the next five years are predicted to be the hottest ever! Extreme weather events are happening against the backdrop of a rapidly warming planet. I live in the Hudson Valley area of New York, and we've experienced extreme flooding this week.

Yet rather than doing everything possible to avoid more devastation, the federal government and its enabling corporate sponsors are gearing up for more drilling, fracking, pipelines, fracked gas power plants, and petrochemical facilities — all of which are massive drivers of climate change.
