This coming Saturday we will find out what Lauren Boebert was able to raise in the last FEC Quarter.

As was made evident by Lauren’s apparent victory in getting her newfound rival Marjorie Taylor Greene booted from the House Freedom Caucus, Boebert is now the clear favorite of the powerful interests backing the extreme right.

With funding from these forces and the help of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Boebert’s fundraising for Q2 2023 is likely to be in the millions.

What she raised is of immense interest to us as the more spare resources she can divert from the essential functions of her campaign – GOTV, communications, fundraising, etc. – the more she can allocate to hardening her defenses against our lawsuit. For instance, she could hire another legal firm to help and hire more legal consultants to jam up the works and slow our momentum.

In case you aren’t familiar with our lawsuit it boils down to Boebert going on a right wing media tour in 2022 in which she threatened and defamed us after we published fact based reports about discrepancies in her personal life which called into question her ‘conservative values’.

In response we have filed a defamation suit against her in a Colorado court where she will have to participate in a taped deposition under oath to the court. This places her in a perjury trap: If she tells the truth then we win our case, and if she lies she could face up to five years of jail time under Colorado law. And she just might be dismissed from her seat in Congress.

We know she is taking the case seriously as she has already brought in one of Colorado’s premier white-shoe firms to handle her defense against us.

While we just had one of our strongest fundraising quarters ever we need to make sure that as we head into Q3 we are keeping up with whatever numbers Boebert puts up on this coming July 15th.
