The Intersections of MMIWR & GBV: Honoring Our Relatives   Join CSVANW for a one-day, 6-hour virtual training that will provide participants with an understanding of gender-based violence (GBV) and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR), illustrate the connection of domestic violence (DV), intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual violence (SV) & how advocates and providers can utilize their advocacy to combat the MMIWR crisis. Intended Audience: Direct service providers and advocates providing services in the areas of gender-based violence, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives, domestic violence, sexual violence, and those who work with survivors of violence and their dependent children. Including but not limited to counselors, advocates, probation officers, judges, etc. Evaluation and Certificate: An evaluation link will be provided to you at the end of the training. CSVANW asks participants to complete this evaluation for reporting purposes. A certificate of completion for the training will be issued to you and sent to the email that was captured on the attendance sheet. Learning Objectives: Discuss the correlation between DV/IPV/SV and how it can lead to the causation of MMIWR. Determine how advocates and providers can better serve and protect transgender women and 2-spirit relatives to end gender-based violence. Engage in a workshop on healthy relationships and determine ways to support survivors and be a part of the solution to the MMIWR crisis.
