Folks, turbulence in airplanes has reached an all-time high.

That’s why I introduced the Severe Turbulence Research and Development Act — legislation that would monitor turbulence more closely to help us better understand the root cause.

While I’d like to focus on passing bills like this one, turbulence doesn’t just apply to planes in the sky. I experience turbulence everyday in Congress when my Republican co-workers stack the deck in favor of their right-wing allies.

I know, I know – I made the comparison between turbulence on airplanes and in Congress on the fly , but I’m serious. Trying to accomplish change for Michiganders in Washington lately has been bumpy.

Republicans are being a plane in the neck by blocking Democrats at every turn. These aren’t the crash and burn policies I signed up for when I decided to run for Congress, and I won’t be on standby to watch Republicans destroy everything in their path.
