In 2016, Bob first introduced his legislation banning the sale of
AR-15-style assault weapons. Many doubted that he’d be able to overcome
the gun lobby’s powerful influence. But Bob kept reintroducing the
legislation every single legislative session. His tenacity was rewarded
earlier this year when this important legislation was signed into law.

Not surprisingly, the gun lobby immediately filed a legal challenge.
Fortunately, Bob’s team is defeating the gun lobby and successfully
defending this legislation in court.

Thanks to Bob’s leadership, community partners, and other elected
officials, Washington state is now at the forefront of the fight against
the sale of assault weapons and the gun lobby. As Governor, Bob will
continue his work to protect Washingtonians.
