John,

By pairing campaigns for popular issues like marijuana reform with support for grassroots candidates for local office, Ground Game Texas is electing new leaders in cities and counties across the state.

This spring, alongside our marijuana reform campaigns in Bell County, we helped elect a total of three city council members across Killeen and Harker Heights. In Denton, we helped a progressive Democrat win a council seat that was held by a conservative Republican who opposed our marijuana reform policy. And in San Marcos, our recent marijuana reform campaign helped Democrats sweep the races for county office, including winning the District Attorney race for the first time in decades.

Ground Game is investing in a long-term strategy for political change. Please contribute to help us boost progressive candidates for local office. [[link removed]]

Just three weeks ago, Ground Game helped elect Stacey Wilson and Lynda Nash to the Harker Heights city council. Long-controlled by white Republican men, the Council now has two Black women representing the community for the very first time. Both councilwomen supported Ground Game’s marijuana reform ballot measure and condemned undemocratic attempts by the prior City Council to repeal the policy.

John, we’re building the pipeline for political change in Texas. Engaging local voters, elevating progressive candidates, and setting the stage for new leaders tomorrow.
