We have a Left-wing movement in this country that is fundamentally hostile to the rights of parents.
If the Left is actively fighting parental involvement in schools and shutting them off from knowing the curriculum, it is because they have something to hide. They are worried that parents will stand in the way of their mission to turn education into indoctrination.
We should not have stories of whistleblowers coming forward to expose the inappropriate material—littered with hardcore pornography and pedophilia—filling school libraries.
While the media allows the Left to push the narrative that we’re “banning books,” that’s not even close. In Florida, you can buy any book you want. What we are doing is making a judgment call about what’s appropriate in elementary school libraries and we are not using tax dollars to bring in that type of material into our schools. Meanwhile, Biden has created a federal “porn enforcer” to try and stop state leaders like me from protecting children and keeping schools clean. That is fundamentally wrong.
They’re not “your” kids, Biden. As a father, I don’t want my 6, 5, and 3-year-olds seeing this garbage.
Here’s what you need to know: last year, we did an event in Florida called the “Exposing the Book Ban Hoax.” Before I spoke at the press conference, we played on the screen a three-minute video that showed what parents had objected to in schools. The news stations covering the press conference cut their feed because they said it was too graphic to air.If a video is too graphic for the six o'clock news, how could it be appropriate for a 10-year-old school child?

A native Floridian with blue-collar roots, Ron was raised in Dunedin by his mother, a nurse, and father, who installed cable boxes. He attended Dunedin High School and worked his way through Yale University, where he was the captain of the varsity baseball team. He also graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, where he earned a commission in the U.S. Navy as a JAG officer.
During his active-duty service, Ron deployed to Iraq in support of the SEAL mission in Fallujah, Ramadi and the rest of Al Anbar province. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
Ron also served as a prosecutor in Florida, where he put child predators behind bars. He was elected to Congress in 2012 on a platform of government accountability, advocating for term limits and a balanced budget amendment.
In Congress, DeSantis spearheaded the fight to expose the weaponization of the IRS against conservatives. He also fought to hold accountable the rogue federal agencies involved in manufacturing the “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory. As a veteran, DeSantis was a champion for those who have served our country, pushing for reforms to the VA to better serve veterans and expand support for mental health.
In 2018, Ron DeSantis was elected the 46th Governor of Florida. As governor, he has fought for what’s right and taken the arrows for the people he represents. Governor DeSantis flipped Miami-Dade County red, winning the majority-Hispanic urban county by double digits. Conventional wisdom assumed this was impossible for a Republican – as recently as 2016, Hillary Clinton won Miami-Dade County by nearly 30 points.
Governor DeSantis flipped several other blue counties red, including Palm Beach County. He won 62 out of 67 counties overall.
Compared to his first statewide election in 2018, Governor DeSantis was up +19% with Independents, up +30% with Hispanics, and up +9% with women.
Governor DeSantis delivered a record-setting victory with battle-tested leadership, a bold policy agenda, and never backing down to corporate media or special interests.
