We all know winning the most competitive open U.S. Senate race in the country won’t be easy.

Michigan, by nature, is a swing state: Just six years ago, it was under full Republican control, and while Democrats’ were successful last November, we could easily revert back if we’re not prepared and strategic in our approach.

This is the nature of a swing state.

And in a cycle where control of both the White House and the Senate could come down to Michigan, National Republicans will be doing everything they can to influence our race.

That includes putting their weight behind a poll-tested Republican candidate who they feel gives them the best shot at winning this seat.

On top of that, the first public poll of our race shows that Elissa is leading by just one point.

All of this to say that we are in our toughest fight yet, and everything we do right now will determine the strength of our campaign when push comes to shove.
