Did you miss our last webinar “Gun Reform Now”? You can still tune in to this interesting conversation with activists from Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety who are fighting tirelessly to change the culture and laws around guns in our country. People do not have the ability to raise their children in safe and healthy communities if they are constantly facing the threat of gun violence, it is for this reason and many more that we consider gun reform a reproductive justice issue.
It has been one year since the Dobbs decision completely changed access to abortion in the country. At Reproaction we are reflecting on what the past year has meant for our movement and our work. We remain dedicated to supporting bold, direct action to ensure a more inclusive and comprehensive framework for abortion access in the future.

Self-Care
Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.
Here are our self-care tips for July:
1. Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! It's not just about drinking water to lubricate your insides. You also need to hydrate your skin. I mix shea butter, coconut oil, lotion, and SPF. Make your concoction and be sure to apply liberally. Don't neglect your skin in summer. Hydrate, sit back, and let the compliments about how good your skin looks roll in! – Evonnia, Movement Building and Research Manager
2. Go to your local community garden! My favorite thing about summer is getting all the fresh produce from the community garden in my neighborhood, which also hosts a farmer’s market every weekend. Chances are there will be volunteer opportunities as well in case you need some extra motivation to get outside for a little bit, and it’s a great way to get to know your neighbors too. – Negar, Senior Research Analyst
3. Prioritize your mental health. We are taught to always "power through, and push through" difficult situations, but it's important to have patience and kindness with yourself. Try 'grounding' yourself, let your feet touch the grass or dirt for 10 minutes. Another way to reflect or meditate would be through art: try painting a canvass or creating clay sculptures while listening to your favorite music. Being mindful of your emotions will help reduce your stress levels, and increase your self-awareness during the things you do or do not have control over. – Jacqueline, Senior Outreach Coordinator
See you next month!
