John,

I’ve got a great life in Montana; four beautiful kids and a wife whom I
adore. On June 27th, I launched my campaign to be the next United States
Senator for Montana, and I’ve got to tell you that the most common question
that I’ve received since my announcement has been,“why are you doing this?”

Here is what I tell them: it’s all about service; I’ve always tried to put
myself in positions where I can have the greatest impact. Sometimes, the
greatest impact is defending our freedoms oversees; sometimes it’s piloting an
aerial fire-fighting aircraft. I love my country – I’ve fought and bled for Old
Glory.I would put my life on the line defending the United States of America.

When your country calls and needs you, you answer. Right now, our nation is
facing some very serious challenges and we need serious people in Washington to
get our nation back on track.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us here in Montana, as I’m sure it has
been for you as well.That’s why I took the liberty of putting together a few of
the headlines news outlets around the country ran when I announced my campaign
on Tuesday.
