These lower courts are critical; they decide how to apply Supreme Court cases. And since the Supreme Court hears so few cases, these judges will likely have the last word on the cases they hear. These are the people who will be interpreting and applying the law. But too many lower court nominees are still awaiting Senate confirmation despite the urgent threat of a Supreme Court that undermines Americans’ basic rights and liberties.
