The National Education Association is one of the most nefarious forces in American life, along with the American Federation of Teachers. Both of these groups worked very hard to make sure that your child could not go to the local public school during all the COVID shutdowns for no apparent reason other than having their teachers get paid by the state to eschew work. Now the NEA has reelected all of its leaders. All of them. They’re doing such a magnificent job, not teaching your children. It is fairly amazing that America continues to wildly underperform educationally while the big solution offered by the Democratic Party and teachers associations is to pay the teachers more. I honestly cannot think of another career where the worse you perform, the more you get paid. At a certain point in athletics, if you’re very bad, they waive you. They cut you from the team. But if you’re a teacher who’s been blowing it for decades on end, the NEA, AFT, and Democratic Party are there for you. And the teachers unions' dues are used by the unions in order to pay for various political campaigns that invariably back Democrats. That’s why Miguel Cardona, the U.S. Secretary of Education, showed up at the NEA annual meeting. That’s why Joe Biden spoke to them. One of my favorite things is when Democrats and others on the Left whine that there’s too much money in politics — except for the giant teachers unions that handle everything related to your kids and use money that you pay in taxes in order to indoctrinate your kids and get paid richly for being bad at their jobs. Cardona talked about the magic of the National Education Association and the evils of privatizing education. He stated: In some parts of this country, they’ve developed an intentional, toxic disrespect against teachers in public schools. A toxic disrespect from so-called leaders that complain about public education but sleep well at night knowing their teachers are making less than $40,000 a year. A toxic disrespect from those who want to privatize education and starve public schools from the resources they need. A toxic disrespect from those seeking to divide our nation by politicizing equity and inclusion.

“Equity and inclusion?” That’s why teachers get “toxic disrespect.” No one respects that garbage. You’re teaching our kids one word: “equity,” which means that if the results are not equal, there must have been racism. But when we say no, that’s toxic disrespect? When your teachers teach kids that the only thing that matters is ethnicity? There has been a corrupt bargain between unions in the Democratic Party for as long as unions have been a powerful force in American life, a very corrupt bargain in which the Democratic Party essentially cuts bargains on behalf of the unions with taxpayer dollars. And then the unions paid off the Democratic politicians by helping them get elected, by spending billions of dollars. That’s what’s going on here. It has nothing to do with our kids. Our kids are completely secondary. Biden told the NEA, “Educators have champions in the White House. ... Teaching is not just what you all do; it’s who you are. It’s who you are. And I know the last few years have been incredibly difficult. We ask so much of you. I want you to know I see you. We see you. We thank you.” Latest Episode: |

“You worked so hard over the past years.” That’s nonsense. They literally did not work in schools between March 2020 and in many cases, September of 2020, and in some cases even later than that. They’re the real heroes, the people who stayed home and made contact with their students on Zoom. Right. It’s amazing how the real heroes shifted from the doctors and nurses who actually went into fairly dangerous health situations or the people who delivered your food, to the teachers.
