Grizzly bear relocated to reduce conflict potential

Updated G&F Shield

After consultation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department captured and relocated one sub-adult female grizzly bear on July 9.

The bear was captured and relocated for killing cattle on private property in Park County northwest of Cody. In cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the bear was relocated to the Blackrock drainage approximately four miles northwest of Togwotee Pass.

*Bears are relocated in accordance with state and federal law and regulation, and Game and Fish is required to notify the public whenever a grizzly bear is relocated. [ [link removed] ]*
