Folks,
Last month, the Supreme Court ruled that Alabama Republican lawmakers violated the Voting Rights Act by racially gerrymandering their proposed congressional districts and must redraw new districts that fairly represent Black Alabamians.
The special legislative session ordered to address redistricting begins in just one week, and we need to do everything we can between now and then to support our grantees working in Alabama to ensure the new congressional maps faithfully represent Black Alabamians.
Can you rush a donation of $10 or any amount today so that our grantees working in Alabama and across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains have the resources they need to promote a fair and free democratic process?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
This new congressional district map will be in place for the next decade, so it’s incredibly important that the districts are drawn in a way that accurately reflects Black Alabamians.
Thank you so much,
— Team Groundwork Project
