Hi, it’s Anna Kaplan, the Democrat running for Congress against George Santos.

Today, my opponent compared himself to Rosa Parks in an absurd interview on a right-wing network. He made the comparison during an attack on Mitt Romney, who, earlier this year, told him to sit in the back of the room during the State of the Union.

Here’s what Santos said when asked about Romney’s comments:

“You want to call me a liar? I’ll call you a sellout… [Romney] tells me, a Latino gay man, that I shouldn’t sit in the front, that I should sit in the back. Well, guess what? Rosa Parks didn’t sit in the back, neither am I.”

John, let’s get a few things straight: Rosa Parks is a hero of the civil rights movement. Santos is an embarrassment and a disgrace to the people of New York and the U.S. House of Representatives.
