Fiction: 2023 is an off-year, so there’s not a lot we can or should do.

Fact: There is no such thing as an off-year.

If you’ll indulge me for just a minute, I’ll explain why the concept of off-years in politics is more myth than reality, but in case you’re in a rush: Would you be willing to pitch in a quick $25 to help elect more Democrats?

Here are a few key reasons why off-years aren’t real:

1) Several states actually hold elections in odd-numbered years, including Virginia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Kentucky.

2) If you think that the 2024 election cycle hasn’t already started, think again: The GOP dark money machine is already investing heavily to elect extremist candidates across the country.

3) Our rights and our democracy are under attack, and we can’t let our guard down. The GOP is dangerous, and their rhetoric and attacks are only getting worse.

If we wait until next year to start paying attention, the GOP will roll us in key elections this year and get an early foothold in 2024. Are you ready to step up and chip in $25 right now to defeat them?
