Invitation: July 18 Workshop on Alcohol Trade Areas (WAC 314-03-1071) Feedback Sought on Draft Rules (Please RSVP for in-person option only)
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) is hosting a workshop to gather feedback on conceptual draft rules related to alcohol trade areas. The LCB is considering:
- Expanding the definition of ?trade area?
- Defining ?Tribal enterprise?
- General language updates
- Adding an exception to the 20-mile trade area travel distance requirement for a spirits retailer owned by a Tribal enterprise and located in Indian Country.
The LCB is currently in the CR-101 inquiry phase of the rulemaking process for this topic. A Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) was filed on May 24, 2023. There are no proposed or final rules at this stage of the rulemaking process. A CR-102 rule proposal has not yet been filed.
