NEW POLLING: Ashcroft Expands Lead in Race for Governor

New polling commissioned by Missouri Scout, and conducted by Remington Research Group, which is aligned with Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe’s campaign, shows Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft expanding his lead in the race for the Republican nomination for Governor, even as Kehoe banks huge money from Jefferson City lobbyists.

Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe announced his candidacy more than two years ago but has failed to get any traction, while Secretary Ashcroft only announced in April. Since his announcement, Ashcroft has increased his lead by 5 percent and now leads Kehoe by 20 points and Sen. Bill Eigel by 30 points.

Secretary Ashcroft is also the strongest candidate of any statewide candidate in 2024. In 2020, Ashcroft earned the largest victory in Missouri history winning 60 percent of the vote.
