Bud Light Slides Out of Top 10 to 15th Place in Popularity

Daily Mail: Bud Light is no longer ranked amongst the top 10 in the US after the Dylan Mulvaney marketing disaster, a survey has found. In a new YouGov poll, which asked the public approval of the beer slumped so much it fell out of the top ten. While the proportion of Americans who ‘liked’ Bud Light hadn’t changed, the popularity of other rival beers surged, pushing it into 15th place. The latest slump in popularity comes after a disaster move by brewer Anheuser-Busch in April that saw them pair with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Since then, Anheuser-Busch has tanked more than $27 billion in market value and two of its top executives took a ‘leave of absence’ (Daily Mail). Outkick: The share price $55.50 at the end of trading Friday. That marks a 16.829% decrease from the $66.73 share price before the Mulvaney ad (Outkick).

Native American Chief Says Ben & Jerry’s Headquarters is Build on Stolen Land
Daily Wire: Days after progressive ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s called on the U.S. to return “stolen Indigenous land,” a Native American chief said the company’s headquarters, located in South Burlington, Vermont, is sitting on Western Abenaki land. Chief Don Stevens, chief of the Nulhegan Band of The Coosuk Abenaki Nation, said in an interview, “If you look at the (Abenaki) traditional way of being, we are place-based people. Before recognized tribes in the state, we were the ones who were in this place.” The chief said that he “looks forward to any kind of correspondence with the brand to see how they can better benefit Indigenous people.” Stevens added that if the company is “sincere” about advocating for Native Americans, the tribe should be hearing from them about the land. Ben & Jerry’s caught backlash over an Independence Day post that read, “The United States was founded on stolen Indigenous land. This Fourth of July, let’s commit to returning it” (Daily Wire). New York Post: Ben & Jerry’s corporate parent, Unilever, got a taste of the backlash as $2 billion was erased from its market cap in the wake of the July 4 post. Shares of Unilever, the Anglo-Dutch multinational firm, slid 0.8% Thursday after closing down 0.5% the previous day (New York Post).

NYT: Bidens are “Callously scarring Navy’s life”
Townhall: President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have acted shamelessly when it comes to their seventh grandchild, as they don’t even acknowledge Hunter Biden’s 4-year-old daughter. Time after time, the couple has bragged about their “six grandchildren.” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre just this past Wednesday’s press briefing refused to speak to the issue (Townhall). New York Times: Joe Biden’s mantra has always been that “the absolute most important thing is your family.” It is the heart of his political narrative. Empathy, born of family tragedies, has been his stock in trade. Callously scarring Navy’s life, just as it gets started, undercuts that (New York Times).

Miss Netherlands is a Biological Man
PJ Media: The Miss Netherlands pageant has taken a rather unexpected turn, ladies and gentlemen. This year, the crown goes to… a trans woman — Rikkie Valeria Kolle. You heard that right, a person who was assigned male at birth but now identifies and presents as a woman. This quite literally adds a whole new dimension to the beauty pageant scene. Who needs historical gender norms when we can just rewrite them, right (PJ Media). End Wokeness: Miss Netherlands 2023: Winner (male) vs the runner-up (female) (Twitter).

US, Germany Pressured to Support Ukraine’s Induction Into NATO
Financial Times: The US and Germany are under intense pressure from other allies to show greater support for Ukraine’s eventual membership of Nato, just days before the military alliance’s leaders meet in Lithuania. Washington and Berlin have backed a form of words for the summit’s concluding statement that does not fully endorse a “pathway” to Nato membership, let alone invite Kyiv to join once the war is over — as demanded by Ukraine’s staunchest supporters in eastern Europe. Other members of the alliance were caught off-guard by the “conservative” US and German stance. On Sunday US president Joe Biden doused Kyiv’s hopes of a breakthrough on membership, saying he did not think Ukraine was ready (Financial Times). Townhall: Biden acknowledged reluctance among current NATO members to “bring Ukraine into the NATO family now” because the defense commitment would mean that all alliance members, including the U.S., would be at war with Russia. On top of the $100 billion in aid Biden has already sent to Ukraine, the U.S. has also delivered tens of thousands of artillery shells, extensive missile defense systems, and information to Ukrainian forces. The president has indicated his support of sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukrainian forces, which would require months of training for Ukrainian pilots (Townhall).

Biden Catches Heat from All Sides for Sending Cluster Bombs to Ukraine
BBC: US President Joe Biden has landed in the UK ahead of a Nato summit in Lithuania later this week – which comes after several allies questioned his call to send cluster bombs to Ukraine. The UK and Canada are among those who voiced concern about supplying the bombs, which are widely banned because of the danger they pose to civilians. The US says they are needed because Ukraine’s weapon stocks are dwindling. The presidential plane touched down at Stansted Airport on Sunday evening (BBC). NBC: The administration’s announcement Friday that it would be sending cluster munitions to Ukraine in a U.S. military aid package was met with pushback from some of Biden’s fellow Democrats, who noted the surface-to-surface warheads, which disperse small munitions or bombs over wide areas, can explode after battle and sometimes injure or kill innocent people. The weapons have been banned in more than 100 countries, and the White House suggested last year that Russia’s use of the weapons in Ukraine was a potential war crime (NBC).

Zelensky on US Aid: “it is important for us to preserve the bipartisan support of Ukraine”
National Review: In an interview with ABC’s Martha Raddatz, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky explained that foot dragging from allies who are providing arms and equipment to Ukraine “will lead to more lives lost.” While the Biden administration recently made the decision to send cluster munitions to the country Russia illegally invaded, Ukraine is still seeking F-16 fighter jets and other equipment allies have not yet provided. Zelensky confirmed in the interview released Sunday that their procurement would allow the Ukrainians to move faster in their counteroffensive and save more lives as Russian war crimes mount (National Review). ABC: Zelenskyy also weighed in on the value of America’s continued support for his country despite what he called “dangerous signals” in U.S. politics about reducing aid for Ukraine at a critical time in the conflict. “Are you at all concerned about the upcoming presidential election and continued aid?” Raddatz asked Zelenskyy. “It’s an internal, domestic policy issue. It’s up for Americans to decide, and I would hate to interfere,” Zelenskyy said. “But it is important for us to preserve the bipartisan support of Ukraine … We understand that there are some dangerous signals coming from particular politicians of the U.S. regarding the reduction of assistance for Ukraine” (ABC).

Janet Yellen Meets with Chinese Officials to Try Improving Tensions
Associated Press: Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Sunday said she agreed Washington will listen to Chinese complaints about security-related curbs on U.S. technology exports and might “respond to unintended consequences” as she ended a visit to Beijing aimed at reviving strained relations. Yellen defended “targeted measures” on trade that China’s leaders complain are aimed at hurting its fledgling tech industries. She said the Biden administration wants to “avoid unnecessary repercussions” but gave no indication of possible changes. Relations between the two biggest economies are at their lowest level in decades due to disputes about technology, security and other irritants. A key Chinese complaint is limits on access to processor chips and other U.S. technology on security grounds that threaten to hamper the ruling Communist Party’s development of smartphones, artificial intelligence and other industries (Associated Press). RNC Research: Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen greets Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Beijing earlier today (Twitter).

Townhall: Some students at a California school have been suspended and later face restorative justice following a misgendering incident with a transgender teacher. When the students were approached about the misgendering incident, they reportedly fled (Townhall). GUSD Parents Voices: Glendale high school students suspended for 5 days for “misgendering” teacher, and then undergo “restorative justice (RJ)” education (Twitter). Representative Lisa McClain: We have a school district in California (surprise) telling students they MUST accept a lie. This is beyond disgusting (Twitter).

Democrats Upset with AOC for Endorsing Biden in 2024
Fox News: Progressive Twitter users blasted “Squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., this week, after she endorsed President Joe Biden’s re-election bid. Leftists on the platform accused the lawmaker of selling out her progressive and anti-war values with her decision to support the second presidential term of the Democratic Party leader who recently just approved of providing controversial cluster bombs for Ukraine’s war effort. Critics accused the Congresswoman of “maliciously” selling out working class voters with the endorsement (Fox News). Former Sanders campaign press secretary Briahna Joy Gray: Endorsing Joe Biden now is a betrayal of progressive interests. It was true of Bernie Sanders’ endorsement & its true of AOC. *Most* Democrats don’t want Biden to run. Bernie and AOC are tragically out of step w/ the movement & the moment (Twitter).
