Hi there – this will be a long email and at the end of it, I’m going to ask you to help us hit our first fundraising goal of 2020.

There’s a lot of activity in Washington these days and it can be hard to stay up to date with what we are working on in Congress.

That’s why I wanted to reach out to my top supporters to fill you in.

The people of Kansas’ 3rd District sent me to Congress to address the real-life, kitchen table issues that keep us up at night. And that’s exactly what my team has been focused on:

Far too many Kansans have gone to the pharmacy counter to fill a prescription and had their heart sink at the price. That’s why I voted to pass the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, which lowers drug prices for everyone, no matter where you get your insurance.

I also presided over the House as we passed the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, an important piece of legislation that strengthens support for programs that provide resources and safety to survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

We’re also working hard to support business owners in our communities. I was proud that the House passed my legislation supporting veteran business owners and connecting veterans with small business programs to help them succeed. And I’m also proud that the House passed my legislation supporting women’s business centers to help female entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.

My job is to keep making advances on important issues like these (and so many more!) – but I can’t do that without your support.

GOP dark money is already pouring into our district to support my Republican opponents, so we can’t afford to miss a single deadline – especially not the first one of the election year.
