John,
I have made my position about Supreme Court ethics reform very clear in recent weeks as we heard revelation after revelation about undisclosed travel and gifts between Justices and wealthy donors:
If Chief Justice John Roberts will not take action to solve this issue, then Congress will.
This session of the Supreme Court is officially over — and we have yet to see any steps taken towards reform. That’s why the Senate Judiciary Committee will now begin marking up legislation that will create an enforceable code of ethics for Supreme Court Justices, just like every other federal judge.
If you agree that the highest court in the land shouldn’t have the lowest ethical standards, add your name to my petition now to support Democrats’ Supreme Court ethics reform.

According to news reports, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is threatening a Republican filibuster of our bill, claiming that Democrats should “stay out” of the Supreme Court’s business.
Well, I happen to believe that ethics in our courts — especially the highest court in the land — is everyone’s business. Americans should be able to have faith that the Supreme Court is fair, impartial, and adherent to a strong code of ethical conduct. We intend to make that a reality.
Sign on now to support our efforts for long-awaited Supreme Court ethics reform.
