Hi team,

Time and time again, we’re reminded how much work is left to fulfill the promise of the 14th Amendment and the promise of an inclusive democracy.

Last week, the Supreme Court took a sledgehammer to the aspirations of the 14th Amendment by ending affirmative action and sanctioned discrimination against our LGBTQ+ community – one year after ending the Constitutional right to bodily autonomy for child-bearing people.

The thing is, is, our rights don’t begin or end with the Supreme Court, or even in the Constitution. The right to live how we want to live, love who we want to love, the right to health care, the right to housing, and the right to pursue a meaningful life are intrinsically ours, so long as we’re willing to fight for them.

I’m running for Congress to fight for the rights of all of us and build upon the work laid out by the 14th Amendment, but I’ll need your support to get there. Chip in $5 or any amount you can on this important anniversary and build an America that works for all of us.

Over and over again, our political system has stacked the deck against working people, LGBTQ+ voices, people of color, women, immigrants, and marginalized people. And over and over again, people fought back to deliver profound change throughout the course of our country’s history.

From Stonewall to Civil Rights, from the Labor Movement to the Women’s March, the struggle marches on.

We’re literally in a fight for our lives, and I’ll never stop fighting for you. Make a donation of $5 or whatever you can now to get this people-powered campaign to victory in 2024.

With gratitude,

Sepi Shyne
