Wisconsin judge gives green light to lawsuit challenging state's so-called abortion ban
Since the fall of Roe, Wisconsin Republicans have been trying to stop all abortions through a 173-year-old law that — wait for it — doesn't even mention abortion. The law does ban attacking a woman in an attempt to kill her unborn fetus, so it's nice to know that Republicans agree on at least one unacceptable motive for attacking women. Judge Diane Schlipper ruled that the suit challenging the law can continue, likely the beginning of the end for Wisconsin's oppressive anti-abortion era and, with a Democratic governor and new fair-minded Supreme Court majority, a new beginning for personal freedom in the cheese state.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Jamie Raskin finally announces decision on US Senate run
The powerful Maryland Democrat released a highly anticipated statement over the weekend announcing his intention to run for re-election in the US House of Representatives, leaving the race to succeed retiring Sen. Ben Cardin in 2024 wide open. Raskin said, "At this moment, I believe the best way for me to make the greatest difference in American politics in 2024 and beyond is this: to run for reelection to the House of Representatives in Maryland’s extraordinary 8th District; and to go anywhere in America where President Biden, Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and other Americans ask me to go to campaign for a runaway victory for the party of democracy, freedom, justice, and progress."

Right-wing judge tosses reparations case from last known Tulsa race massacre survivors
A reparations lawsuit filed by the three last known survivors of the 1921 Tulsa race massacre — Lessie Benningfield Randle, 108, Viola Fletcher, 109, and Hughes Van Ellis, 102 — was dismissed with prejudice by self-described "constitutional conservative" Judge Caroline Wall, meaning it cannot be refiled. The plaintiffs called out how others have benefitted from the “exploitation of the massacre” — which killed nearly 300 people and decimated Oklahoma’s Greenwood District, aka Black Wall Street — while they have yet to “recover for unjust enrichment.”

White House officials worried Trump showed reporters classified material while in office, new book recounts
A forthcoming book by an ex-Trump administration aide describes an episode in which officials worried that then-President Trump was cavalier in his handling of classified information while talking to reporters at the White House. You mean the guy who stored boxes of stolen top secret docs in a guest bathroom at Mar-a-Lago also willfully disregarded the rule of law while in office?! Shocking!

A newly released analysis by humanitarian groups Oxfam and ActionAid shows that 722 of the world's top corporations made combined windfall profits of $1 TRILLION per year in 2021 and 2022 as people across the planet struggled to meet basic needs due to the price hikes that businesses have used to pad their bottom lines.
