Hi, it’s Jane Fonda. If you’re reading this, it’s likely you receive a lot of emails from us. I wanted to take a moment to explain why we send them and why your support matters to the Jane Fonda Climate PAC and the candidates we support.
Here are 3 reasons why every investment counts:
1️⃣ We rely on grassroots supporters like you. We wish we didn’t have to ask people to part with their hard-earned money, but our ability to support candidates depends on a lot of individuals being willing to support however they can.
2️⃣ We focus our support where we can have the biggest impact. Our strategy combines direct financial support and smartly leveraging our ability to reach people in down-ballot races where even modest financial support goes a long way. And with your support in 2023, we have already been able to fuel the victories of Shontel Lewis and Sarah Parady for Denver City Council, Jalen McKee Rodriguez and Teri Castillo in Texas, and Sara Innamorato in PA, and with your support we will be able to support many more this year.
3️⃣ The climate crisis is here. Day after day, we are seeing the effects of burning fossils on our communities. The fossil fuel industry is dedicated to investing in politicians who will let them continue to get away with it. We can’t take a break from demanding climate action because the climate crisis is getting worse every day. And with your support, I strongly believe the climate movement is in great hands, but there is still so much work to be done.
We don’t say any of this to scare you – anyone who tries to scare you into giving them money should rethink that strategy. If nothing else, our goal is for you to feel hopeful – our team and the rest of the climate movement are working every day out of hope for a livable future, and we hope you consider yourself part of our team.
Every dollar you invest in the Jane Fonda Climate PAC has an immediate impact on the decisions we make, and we cannot do it without you. Our next step is to make sure we have the resources to fund our next round of endorsements, so we’re asking today if you can contribute $10 to help us get there.
