Persistent anti-social behaviour causes widespread distress and I know it can have a devastating impact on individuals and neighbourhoods. The Prime Minister recognises this and has made tackling this issue a priority. Earlier this year, he asked me to head up a new taskforce to deal with low level crime, and working with colleagues across Government, we published our Anti-social Behaviour Action Plan on 17 May 2023, setting out the Government’s approach to stamping out anti-social behaviour and restoring the right of people to feel safe in, and proud of, their local area.
The plan is an ambitious and wide-reaching new approach that will give Police and Crime Commissioners, local authorities, and other agencies the tools to tackle the blight of anti-social behaviour facing communities across England and Wales. You can read further details here.
I am anxious to know more from constituents about what the priorities should be in Surrey Heath, ensuring any specific local hotspots of crime are tackled, so please take a few moments of your time to complete the survey and share your concerns on crime and anti-social behaviour in Surrey Heath by 12 July 2023.
With every good wish,
Rt Hon Michael Gove MP
Member of Parliament for Surrey Heath
